Police are investigating the reported theft of cash, jewelry and other items totaling almost $7,500 from a Kipling Lane residence.
A woman reported that while she was out of the residence between 2 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, someone stole a platinum, gold and diamond engagement ring worth $3,000 along with $2,260 in cash, three Coach purses worth $600 each, two bracelets worth $200 each, and prescription medications.
Elliot L. Lige, 29, of Windsor Regency, was charged Monday with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said officers were at Mr. Lige’s Windsor Regency apartment about 12:15 a.m. on an unrelated investigation when they saw a bag of marijuana along with rolling papers and a glass marijuana pipe. Mr. Lige was arrested and later released pending court action.
A Windsor Castle resident reported that his 2002 Acura was scratched with a sharp object while parked in front of his apartment between 2:30 p.m. and midnight Saturday. Damage was estimated at between $200 and $400.
Jose Avila, 41, of Windsor Castle Apartments, was charged last week with child abuse.
Officers responded to an East Windsor Regional school for a report of a child who had complained about being beaten and displayed bruising to his leg and arm, police said. After investigation by detectives, Mr. Avila was arrested and charged with child abuse and released pending court action.
Hightstown
A Wyckoff Mills resident arrived home about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday and saw two men attempting to break into his home and his neighbor’s home, police said.
Upon being discovered, the men ran into the woods. Police searched the area but did not find them.
One suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male with a goatee, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 160 to 170 pounds, wearing black jeans, a black sweater and a black doo rag.
The other suspect was described as a light-skinned black male, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds, wearing a dark blue sweater, dark navy blue pants and a wool cap.

A Grape Run Road resident thwarted an attempted burglary about 8:45 p.m. March 10.
Police said someone tried to gain entry into the residence through a rear door and then the front door, but was scared off by the homeowner before police arrived.

Timothy Eldridge, 51, of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, was arrested March 9 and charged with contempt of court, suspended license, unlicensed driving, and failure to maintain lamps.
Officers stopped Mr. Eldridge’s vehicle on Prospect Drive about 4:10 p.m. for having no operating brake lights, and a credential check revealed his license was suspended and an active warrant had been issued by Tinton Falls Municipal Court in the amount of $2,500, police said.
Mr. Eldridge was released upon posting bail.
A resident of the 200 block of Franklin Street reported at 12:25 p.m. March 11 that someone had stolen a signaling lamp from their vehicle, which was parked in the driveway.

Rahkier Little, 40, of Roselle Park, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, refusal to submit breath samples, and failure to maintain lane.
While on patrol about 1:45 a.m., an officer saw Ms. Little’s vehicle continually swerve across the center and fog lines, police said. Upon stopping the vehicle on Mercer Street, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and had Ms. Little perform sobriety tests, which she failed, police said.
Ms. Little was taken into custody, refused to provide breath samples, was processed, and later released to a friend with pending court action, police said.
Jessica Ray, 19, of South Plainfield, was arrested Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, underage DWI, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage possession of alcohol, controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, delaying traffic and failure to exhibit an insurance card.
While on patrol about 1:20 a.m., an officer saw Ms. Ray stop for a green light, sit several seconds, and then continue to drive erratically, stopping in the middle of the road several times for no apparent reason, police said. Upon being stopped on Mercer Street, Ms. Ray displayed signs of intoxication and an odor of raw marijuana emanated from the vehicle, police said. She was given field sobriety tests, which she failed, police said.
Ms. Ray was arrested and a search of her vehicle revealed a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an open bottle of vodka, police said.
Ms. Ray provided breath samples resulting in a 0.07 percent blood alcohol content, just under the legal limit, and was later released to a friend with pending court action, police said.
John Gaye, 34, of Twin Rivers Drive North, East Windsor, was arrested Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.
While on patrol about 3:25 a.m., an officer saw Mr. Gaye’s vehicle swerving from the center line to the fog line, nearly striking a parked vehicle, police said. The officer stopped the vehicle on North Main Street and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, police said.
Mr. Gaye was given field sobriety tests, which he failed, and was arrested, police said. Mr. Gaye provided breath samples resulting in a reading of 0.12 percent blood alcohol content and was later turned over to the Hightstown First Aid Squad for a medical emergency, police said.
