PRIVATE PILOT COURSE STARTS SOON
Area residents interested in obtaining their private pilot’s license may enroll in the Private Pilot Ground School offered by Raritan Valley Flying School, beginning Monday, March 28, 2011.  The classes will start at 7:00 p.m. and will meet for approximately thirteen consecutive weeks for three hours.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires that private pilots pass a knowledge test as well as a practical flight test for certification.  This course will provide the information necessary for the aeronautical knowledge portion of the flight training as well as preparation for the FAA knowledge test, taken on the computer.
Raritan Valley is a Jeppesen Guided Flight Discovery training center, providing students with an integrated method of flight training.  The student is required to read a comprehensive textbook and watch DVDs.  Each week the class will meet and discuss the subject matter.
“With this course and this method of learning, our students have little difficulty passing the FAA tests.  The school has maintained almost 100% passage on the computer test, the first time they take it and they receive very high scores,” stated Ms. Naomi Nierenberg, Manager of the school.  “As air space becomes more complex, it becomes beneficial that the prospective student enrolls in an organized and integrated program,” she added.
“I have seen our students reach the proficiency level of a private pilot with fewer hours, which interprets into fewer dollars,” stated Ryan Vinton, Chief Pilot of Raritan Valley and the instructor for this class.
Raritan Valley Flying School is located at the Princeton Airport, 41 Airpark Road off Route 206, Montgomery, just 3.5 miles north of Princeton.  The school is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until dark.  For further information regarding the class and the costs involved, prospective students may call 609-921-3100 or www.princetonairport.com.
