The Kalmia Club is looking for gardens to feature in its 15th annual Hidden Gardens of Lambertville tour on June 11. The tour raises money for community service efforts sponsored by the women’s nonprofit civic organization. Lenten dinners set at church
The First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville is holding Lenten dinners from 5-8 p.m. every Friday evening during Lent. The menu will be broiled tilapia Napolitano, flounder oreganato, linguini mare chiaro, linguini with marinara and linguini with meatballs. Children’s portions will be available. Columbia has Fish Fry dinners
Columbia Fire Company, 177 N. Union St., Lambertville, is offering its Lenten Fish Fry dinners every Friday until April 22 from 5-7:30 p.m. Meals include: all-you-can-eat homemade macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw and fresh dinner rolls, as well as either fried or baked flounder, fried shrimp or a combination of the two. For dessert, there will be a selection of puddings. Prices are: Fish Dinner, $10; Shrimp Dinner, $11; Combo, $12. Takeouts are $1 more. Delivery to Lambertville residences is free. Ziti dinner
On April 1, the Centenary United Methodist Church, 108 N. Union St., Lambertville, will hold a ziti dinner from 5-7 p.m. The meal will consist of salad, baked ziti, bread, dessert and beverages. The cost is $9. Proceeds will benefit the roof restoration fund.
Shad Festival posters
The 2011 Shad Festival Poster blanks are available at The Sojourner (26 Bridge St.), The Frame Shop (39 N. Main St.), The Coryell Gallery (8 1/2 Coryell St.) and the LACC office (59 N. Union St.). Artists are allowed one poster. If you complete and return your poster, you may pick up another blank. Artists ages 13 -17 should pick up a Shad Fest Youth Poster Blank (available March 22). Free IRA summit
The First National Bank will host a free question and answer summit with resident specialists on the topic of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) at their main branch in Newtown on March 26 from 10-11:30 a.m. at 40 S. Rummage sale
The Flemington Women of the Moose will host a charity Rummage Sale on April 2 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Flemington Moose Lodge, 81 Barley Sheaf Road. South’s Marching Band Auction
South Hunterdon Regional High School will hold a Marching Band Auction on April 9 in the school’s gymnasium, 301 Mount Airy-Harbourton Road, West Amwell. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for preview. The auction will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and children under 5 are free. Refreshments will be available for purchase. The annual Art Raffle also is taking place and tickets will be available for purchase at the auction. The framed painting is donated by local artist, Irma Fuhr, and is "Green Sergeant’s Covered Bridge." Chances are $3 each or two tickets for $5. The painting will be raffled off at the SHRSH Spring Concert II on June 7. One does not have to be present to win. Tickets for the Art Raffle also will be available for purchase on the corner of Union and Bridge streets in Lambertville most weekends in April and May. The auction and raffle are sponsored by The SHRSH Marching Band Parents Association. The proceeds will go toward Marching Band Summer Camp for all marching band members.

Bike Run May 22
The Flemington Moose Lodge 1829 will host its fifth annual "Cruzin With The Moose" motorcycle run to benefit children with cancer. Sign-in is from 9-11 a.m. at the lodge, 81 Barley Sheaf Road, Flemington. The "Out and Back" Run will be held on May 22 (rain date, Aug. 14) with event proceeds going to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding research to find cures for childhood cancer. The event also will be in memory of David Heard, son of Hunterdon Central High School teacher Tom Heard. The run will take riders on an approximate 75-mile tour of the Delaware Valley of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Costs are: $20 per bike (includes pin); passengers, $10; non-riding guests, $15. West Amwell registration
West Amwell Elementary School will hold registration for children who will be 5 on or before Oct. 1 at the school April 26 and 27. Kindergarten students for this September must be registered by April 1. The only registrations permitted after April 1 are for students just moving into the district; proof of new residency must be provided. Each child should have the following and proof before he or she may enter school in September – Hepatitis B vaccine, three dose series; diptheria-tetanus-pertusis, four doses plus booster after fourth birthday; polio series plus booster after fourth birthday; two measles-mumps-rubella combination shots are required by law; varicella vaccine, one dose; physical examination and birth certificate. Library Logo Contest
The Lambertville Free Public Library announces a library logo contest open to all persons 12 and older. The library has no logo and wants one that can be used on the library card, website, letterhead, advertising, etc. The person who submits the winning entry will receive $100 cash. Second place will receive $50. Third place and People’s Choice will get $25 each. Each person may submit up to five entries. Entries should be timeless and should include a reading/books/library or historic Lambertville/river town theme, either generic or specific to the library. Entries can be in color or black and white, hand or computer drawn. Entries will be accepted through March 31 and displayed in the library throughout April with the winning design announced May 1.
