The free day of golf offered to all Mercer County golf cardholders who have renewed their 2011 ID cards will be held March 26, the Mercer County Park Commission has announced.
The Park Commission will make all tee times available starting at 8:30 a.m. until they have been reserved.
For the past decade, the Mercer County Park Commission has offered a free day of golf to all Mercer County golf cardholders on New Year’s Day. Due to inclement weather this winter, the annual tradition had to be postponed until March 26.
"A free round of golf at one of our four terrific golf courses is a great opportunity to dust off the clubs and start the season for many of our local golfers," said Park Commission Executive Director Kevin Bannon.
Mercer Oaks East and West in West Windsor, Mountain View in Ewing, and Princeton Country Club in West Windsor will all be open, weather permitting. Both Mercer Oaks courses and Mountain View will accept automated advanced tee times by phone or Internet reservation for those individuals who have renewed their resident membership cards for 2011; or 2011 card holders can simply walk-on at Princeton Country Club on March 26. The first tee time at all courses is 8:30 a.m., frost permitting.
Mercer residents must renew their ID cards in person with proper photo identification by visiting one of the pro shops at the courses. The 2011 ID card will allow golfers to make tee time reservations via the Internet or by phone and also will allow for appropriate greens fees to be charged.
For more information, contact the individual golf shops: www.golfmercercounty.org (2011 county membership card required for automated reservations).
