New Jersey and Pennsylvania local businesses and Delaware River Mill Society members are combining resources for preservation efforts of the Prallsville Mills Complex in Stockton,
The Delaware River Mill Society, a private nonprofit, is sponsoring the fundraising event on March 26.
The event offers an dining experience for a tax-deductible donation and supports an historic resource and asset that serves the Delaware River region.
"The support for this annual event is truly heart warming," said DRMS President Stephanie Jones. This year’s event has an unprecedented 11 sites hosting dinners. Jefferson and Laura Barnes have opened their home, "Barnesyard," in Sergeantsville for cocktails and catered hors d’oeuvres by Emily’s Catering of Pennington.
Dinner attendees go to eight private homes of Mill Society members hosting dinners. Meils Restaurant of Stockton is catering the dinners served in Jerry Cable’s Stockton Art Studio. Dinners also are being served at three historic buildings at the Prallsville Mills complex. Just Food from Buckingham Green, Holicong, Pa., is catering dinners served in the John Prall Manor House. Dinners in the Mill’s Carriage Shed are being catered by Kevin Blalock, owner and chef of The Penn Tap Room, Doylestown, Pa.
Bob Kascik, owner and chef of BBQ & Comfort Food, New Hope, will cater dinners served in the original Quarry Office, a home located along the D&R Canal.
Desserts will be provided by owner Kelly Hamden of Chez Alice in Princeton, and Krista Owens, of Lovebites, Newtown, for the evening’s conclusion in the Grist Mill.
Geoff Caldwell of Stockton and friends will provide the live music.
Brillmans Rental Barn of Newtown will provide the table settings for cocktails, dinners and deserts offered at the historic complex.
"Every aspect of this event is donated, making the full price of the event ticket a tax-deductible donation to the Delaware River Mill Society," explained DRMS Executive Director Edie S. Sharp.
Tickets can be purchased for the full evening at $100 per person or just for the cocktail hour or deserts for $50. Event tickets are available by calling 397-3586 or e-mailing [email protected].
