Get active and help protect your water and environment at the third annual Greening Princeton EnviRUNment 5K. Join Greening Princeton, a student environmental group at Princeton University, and the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association, central New Jersey’s first environmental group, on Saturday April 16 for this fun fundraising event. Runners, joggers and walkers are welcome.
Gather at the start/finish area at Forbes College on the university campus (corner of University Place and Alexander Street) for registration and check-in starting at 8 a.m. The run/walk kicks off at 9 a.m. Enjoy a relatively flat, fast 3.1-mile up-and-back course that traverses Alexander Street along the university campus and the scenic Delaware & Raritan Canal tow path. Prizes from Mezzaluna, Princeton Running Company, Princeton Record Exchange – and more – will be awarded to top finishers. All participants will receive complementary reusable Princeton University Nalgene water bottles!
To register in advance for the discount fee of just $10 visit www.princeton.edu/greening. Registration will be available on race day for $15. All event proceeds benefit the Watershed Association and help protect central New Jersey’s water and environment. Since the first EnviRUNment 5K with the Watershed Association in 2009, the event has raised more than $1,000 for the environmental nonprofit and its conservation, advocacy, science and education efforts.
"Greening Princeton is proud to partner with the Watershed Association," said Elektra Alivisatos, an EnvirRUNment 5K event organizer and freshman at Princeton University. "They’re hard work and determination out in the community helps keep our region’s water and environment going strong."
