Locals help Peddie swimmers at winter championship meets

In the first two meets of the short-course championship season, Peddie swimmers swam to 28 top three finishes at the 9/10 and 11/12 Silver/Bronze Championships.
In 12-year-old events at the 11/12 Silver/Bronze Championships at Raritan Valley Community College, Nika Blank (East Windsor) placed third in both the 100 free (1:01.28) and the 100 back (1:08.44). Kate Ellsworth (Cranbury) finished third in the 100 breast (1:28.53).
In 11-year-old events at the meet, Megan McNamara (Millstone) won the 200 fly (3:46.24) and Austin Cawley (Monroe) won the 200 breast (3:02.04). Justin Keve (Cranbury) took second in the 100 back (1:19.83) and third in the 100 IM (1:18.49). Maddie Whaley (Cranbury) placed second in the 200 breast (2:53.76) and Brigid DiBlasio (Princeton) took second in the 200 free (2:28.89).
At the 9/10 Silver/Bronze Championships at Newark Academy in Livingston, swimming in 10-year-old events, Allyn Bright (Hightstown) won the 100 fly (1:29.31) and Allie McDaid (East Windsor) won the 200 free (2:46.66) and placed second in the 200 IM (2:57.44). Maddy Laurash (Cranbury) took second in both the 200 IM (3.16.08) and 100 breast (1:31.18). David Kalajdzic (East Windsor) finished second in the 200 IM (3:13.26) and third in both the 100 free (1:12.73) and the 50 breast (43.85). Ryan Morris (Morris) took second in the 50 back (43.31), Alex Newberg (Plainsboro) placed second in the 200 free (2:57.85), and Brynn Peterson (Hightstown) finished second in the 100 free (1:10.53). Charlie Lu (West Windsor) finished third in the 100 back (1:34.35) and Katherine Xiong (West Windsor) finished third in the 50 fly (41.31).
Swimming in 9-year-old events at the meet, David Nicholson (Hightstown) won both the 50 back (36.20) and 200 free (2:40.99) and placed second in the 50 fly (39.62) and third in the 100 IM (1:24.88). Gabriela Youngken (Robbinsville) won the 200 IM (3:07.90) and placed third in the 100 fly (1:31.59).
