Hawa Alpha, 23, of Beakes Street in Trenton, was charged with shoplifting at 7:47 p.m. March 19 at the J.C. Penney department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall after a store loss prevention officer saw her hide an assortment of jewelry, valued at a combined $69, in her purse, police said. She was issued a summons and released.
A 14-year-old Trenton girl was charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen property at 3:04 p.m. March 19 after the store manager at Spencer’s at the Quaker Bridge Mall saw her conceal a silver purse, valued at $14.99, inside a black purse she was carrying, police said.
She was charged with receiving stolen property after police found in her possession 13 bracelets from the Hot Topic store, worth a combined $51.87; three pieces of jewelry from the Justice store, valued at a combined $30.70; and 13 small containers of lip balm, worth a combined $91, from the Bath and Body Works store, all at the mall, police said.
She was released to her mother’s custody.
Jorge Vega, 25, of Greenwood Avenue in Trenton, was charged with shoplifting at 2:16 p.m. March 19 at the J.C. Penney department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall after a store loss prevention officer saws him put a pair of sunglasses, valued at $30, in his pants pocket, police said. He was held on $500 bail at the Lawrence Township Police Department.
A Bergen Street resident reported that someone cracked the driver’s side mirror on his 2001 GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle while it was parked in his driveway between noon on March 16 and 11:30 a.m. March 18, police said.
Christian D. Jones, 40, of Philadelphia, was charged with shoplifting, possession or distribution of hypodermic syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:13 p.m. March 16 at the Sears department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall, police said.
A store loss prevention officer saw him put on a pair of Harley Davidson boots, valued at $125, police said. After he was stopped, the loss prevention officer also found a silver Polo wristwatch worth $29.99 in his possession. Police found a small silver cigarette box in his possession that contained two syringes, and three baggies that are used for heroin.
He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on $4,500 bail.
Two 11-year-old Trenton girls were charged with shoplifting at 8:13 p.m. March 15 at the J.C. Penney department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall after a store loss prevention officer saw them take one pair of earrings, worth $15 apiece, police said. The girls were released to their grandmother’s custody.
Lisa A. Beltranena, 29, of Kendall Park, was charged with shoplifting at Claire’s at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 5:26 p.m. March 15 after the store manager saw her take a pair of sunglasses and an assortment of jewelry, valued at a combined $63, police said. She was released on a summons.
Maxwell Rothstein, 20, of Hightstown, was charged with shoplifting at 4:28 p.m. March 15 at the J.C. Penney department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall after a store loss prevention officer saw him put two pairs of sunglasses, worth $52, in his pants pocket, police said. He was released on a summons.
A Hamilton resident reported the theft of two headrests, each containing DVD players worth a combined $600, from his unlocked 1999 Acura sedan that he had left for repairs at the Lawrenceville Exxon service station on Brunswick Pike, police said. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. March 9 and 2:30 p.m. March 15.
