Township and Edison police teaming up led to the arrest of resident Braham M. Romkey, 32, on Friday for allegedly receiving more than a pound of marijuana in the mail, according to police.
Police said they received a tip last week that drugs reportedly were being shipped to a North Umberland Way address.
Police in Edison intercepted a package of a safe containing more than a pound of marijuana, according to a press release.
The package then was delivered to the house in South Brunswick by undercover police officers who then arrested Mr. Romkey when he accepted the package.
Police reported two more ounces of marijuana and $645 in cash were found at the residence.
Police said Mr. Romkey was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and was released after posting $10,000 bail.
Detective Jeff Russo led the investigation, police said.
Edison police did not comment on the case and referred all questions to South Brunswick police.
