BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP “I always thought that if we discovered life on the moon, or life on Mars, it would be the most exciting discovery in human history.”
This helps explain why Pat Marcattilio, of Hamilton, also known as Dr. UFO, began a UFO/ET Congress almost 27 years ago.
The 49th semi-annual UFO/ET Congress Reunion was held at the Ramada Inn on Route 206 this past weekend.
Some 60 believers gathered for two days to hear stories from researchers about sightings, abductions, mind control, the mysterious mothman, and alien flight paths.
At noon on Saturday, the meeting hall was cleared of all attendees, except those who had been abducted, contacted by aliens, or had seen a UFO, alien or other paranormal event. This was an opportunity for them to share their stories with their peers at a special BYO lunch.
About 10 abductees and contactees remained.
A press request to stay for the event was rejected by Karin Marcattilio, granddaughter of the event’s founder.
”They are sacred stories,” she said.
Mr. Marcattilio said he started the group to educate the public.
”I’m trying to share all of these experiences,” he said. “All of these people are here because they are excited about the subject.”
Mr. Marcattilio said he has seen UFOs eight times in his life, the first time was in 1963.
”At that time there were satellites coming across the sky and they had timetables in the newspaper so you could go out and watch them,” he said.
”I saw this big, bright, bluish-white thing start to come across the sky and I called my wife outside to watch it with me. We’re watching it and it starts to move and then all of a sudden, it was gone, in a split second.”
That moment piqued his interest and he began doing research. The conferences started in 1990 after he was able to get a number of researchers together “to come here and tell us all of the brand new information they’ve been researching all of their lives.”
Before the abductee luncheon, speaker Will Allen discussed his ordeal of being abducted at a very young age. A professional photographer and UFO researcher, he takes pictures of noncorporal paranormal energetic bodies, or ghosts, and UFOs. He claims the government knows about these energy bodies and has been hiding this information.
”This is real,” he said. “All of this is real. My work is a direct result of alien contact. These things were landing in front of me and I was able to forensically authenticate all of my samples through other pictures.”
Mr. Allen said when he was abducted as a child he was staying up late to play with his toys and the next thing he knew his “door bursts open and in walk these small things in silver space suits.”
”I tried to yell and I tried to run,” he said. “My legs didn’t work and nothing came out of my mouth.”
Mr. Allen said it is not because of fear that people get abducted by the aliens’ abilities to completely inhibit a person’s thought process and stop them from being able to do anything.
”You’re totally incapacitated,” he said. “But you’re totally aware of what’s going on. They can’t stop your thoughts but they can stop your thoughts from going to the rest of your body.”
Grant Cameron, of Canada, also spoke, telling the story of UFO sightings over two years at the end of the Vietnam War led to the inside story of investigations inside the Canadian and U.S. governments.
Mr. Cameron said the sightings, which took place in Carman, Manitoba, happened sporadically in 1975 and 1976. He also said there have been no sightings there since then.
”There were a lot of sightings then,” he said. “They looked like orange balls of light and later became known as Charlie Redstar.”
Mr. Cameron told his story about chasing the lights through fields and even how he was close enough to almost jump on one of the lights, much to the audience’s amusement.
”The light was just sitting on top of the bridge and I said, ‘I’m going to jump on it,” he said. “But then I looked back at my car and there was one sitting on top of that, so I ran back to my car.”
Mr. Cameron described a game of cat and mouse, where he was the cat chasing around the orange balls of light.
”You could never fool these things,” he said.
The UFO/ET Congress holds monthly meetings at the Hamilton Township Library the first Wednesday of each month. For more information visit www.drufo.org.
