CHESTERFIELD No one wants to buy the old vacated Chesterfield Elementary School at 295 Bordentown-Chesterfield Road.
The school district put the building up for bid, but the March 24 deadline came and went and there were no bidders, according to Business Administrator Louise Zoilkowski .
There was a minimum required bid to $2.1 million, which included the 21-acre site located in the agricultural zone.
Ms. Zoilkowski said the Board of Education will probably be contacting a broker to sell the building. Under that agreement, the price would be able to be negotiated.
The district is continuing consultation with the county to determine how it would spend any proceeds from the sale of the building, Ms. Zoilkowski said.
The elementary students moved out of the building in January and now attend the new elementary school on Saddle Way.
