POLICE BLOTTER

   West Amwell Township police reported:
   —On March 21 at 8:20 a.m., police went to a one-vehicle crash on Route 202 near the Route 179 on exit. Steven Bright, 44, of Blue Bell, Pa., was driving north in the left lane when he lost control due to standing water on the roadway, left the travel portion and slid into the grass center median. No injuries were reported. His vehicle sustained undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene. Patrolman Todd Pantuso investigated and issued a summons to Mr. Bright for careless driving.
   — On March 24 at 3:27 p.m., police went to a two-vehicle crash on Brunswick Pike at Wilson Road. Paula Johnson, 40, of Pennington, was driving east and had stopped behind a stopped school bus. Maura Endres, 44, of Princeton, had stopped behind her. According to the report, Ms. Endres was momentarily distracted. Thought traffic had begun to move when she accelerated and hit the rear of Ms. Johnson’s vehicle. Ms. Endres’ vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Patrolman Timothy Vanselous investigated, issuing a summons to Ms. Endres for careless driving.
   Lambertville police reported:
   —On March 15, Officers Kenneth Housman and Michael Miloszar were sent to a residence of York Street for a reported burglary and theft. William Bolash, 57, reported that a safe and various jewelry were taken from his residence sometime on this date. Investigation is continuing.
   — On March 14, patrols received a report of a subject in a blue Chevrolet displaying a handgun at passing motorists on Route 202 in the Ringoes area. Officers Housman, Michael Gramlich, Miloszar and Vincent Albani stopped the Chevrolet on Route 202, southbound. Alex M. Carter, 28, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., was found to have a loaded Glock 9mm handgun in a backpack on the rear seat. Mr. Carter was turned over to the New Jersey State Police as this incident occurred in their jurisdiction.
   — On March 16, Sgt. Robert Brown and Officer Housman were sent to the canal path behind the Lambertville Station Restaurant to investigate a report of an intoxicated person who fell into the canal. Jonathan Francis, 51, of Lambertville, was found on the canal path. A passerby saw the man fall in and dragged him out, onto the canal path. Mr. Francis was transported to the Hunterdon Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
   — On March 16, Officers Housman and Miloszar were sent to two residences on South Main Street to investigate a report of a woman knocking on doors asking for shelter and just to talk. Janet E. Hingston, 52, of Lambertville, was found to be “allegedly intoxicated.” Ms. Hingston refused to go home after ordered by police several times to do so. She began causing a disturbance by hopping on one leg while shouting profanities at police. Ms. Hingston was charged with disorderly conduct.
   — On March 21, Officer Gramlich was sent to Swan Street to check out a suspicious vehicle. Florentino Hernandez-Zuniga, 30, of Lambertville, was found parked. Ms. Hernandez-Zuniga was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, being an unlicensed driver, and driving while his license is suspended. Three warrants also were found for Ms. Hernandez-Zuniga out of Hopewell Township and Wall Township, totaling $2700. He posted bail and was released.
   — On March 23, Officer Albani went to Saint John’s Church on Bridge Street to investigate a theft of robes. Nancy Finn reported six albs (altar robes) had been taken from a closet. Value of the robes is $1,305. The investigation is continuing.
   — On March 16, Rene D. Greenley, 33, of Lambertville, reported to Sgt. Michael O’Rourke that someone had entered her residence on Elm Street and removed personal papers from under her bed. Investigation is continuing.
   — On March 26, Brandon A. Bengochea, 19, of Lambertville, reported to Officer Anthony Memolo that someone had thrown eggs at his residence on Elm Street. Investigation is continuing.
   — On March 26, Sgt. Brown stopped Bruce R. Lacour, 55, of Hamilton Township, on Route 29 for failure to maintain lamps. Mr. Lacour was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI, careless driving, and failure to maintain lamps. He was released.
   — On March 26, Officer Sharon Polyak went to Heritage Village Apartments to investigate a theft of a wallet. Doris J. Brant, 78, said someone had removed her wallet from her kitchen table. Police do have a suspect. Investigation is continuing.
   — On March 26, Sgt. O’Rourke met Patricia A. Ahern, 59, at police headquarters. Ms. Ahern reported someone had thrown eggs that hit her vehicle, which was parked in her driveway.
