ROBBINSVILLE: Township man charged with sex assault of minor

ROBBINSVILLE — A township man was charged earlier this month with sex crimes involving a teenage boy, state police said Tuesday.
David Herzfeld, 55, of Robbinsville, was charged March 17 with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree child endangerment and engaging in prostitution with a minor, Lt. Stephen Jones of the state police said Tuesday.
Mr. Herzfeld was released on $150,000 full cash bail from the Mercer County Jail on March 19.
Lt. Jones said the alleged victim was a teenager, but would not disclose his exact age or whether he was a local resident.
Also charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child involving the same teenage boy was 23-year-old Dan Dinnebeil, of Toms River, Lt. Jones said. Mr. Dinnebeil was arrested Feb. 25 and released on $250,000 cash bail.
State police said the case is an ongoing investigation and would not release any further details about the alleged crime or where it occurred. Investigators still are trying to determine if anyone else is involved, Lt. Jones said.
Lt. Jones declined to release Mr. Herzfeld’s address in Robbinsville, saying it is against state police policy to identify the name of the street where an accused child sex offender resides. He said Mr. Herzfeld is employed as an accountant and does not have a job in which he regularly comes in contact with children.
Mr. Herzfeld has an unlisted phone number and could not be reached for comment.
