SENIOR CORNER: Week of April 14

   The Manville Senior Citizens meet at 12:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the VFW located on Washington Avenue. The club is open to new members who are residents of Manville, age 60 or older, and age 55 if disabled.
   Canned goods or non-perishable food items will continue to be collected before each meeting as well as soup labels. Food donations are needed by the Food Bank.
   Blood pressure screening is held before the beginning of each meeting.

   Lisa Gericknot, borough tax collector reminded us that the May 1 tax bill will have your rebate applied and you should have received your new tax bill by now.

   Thank you to the Manville High School Drama Club for the wonderful musical show “Disco Inferno” and the special luncheon served by the high school staff. This is a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon and throughly appreciated by the seniors.

   The annual picnic is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22 at the Polish Falcons in Hillsborough. There will be more information regarding the picnic at the April 14 meeting.
Recreation Events
   OCT. 1-9 — BRANSON, MISSOURI — Trip includes admission to seven Branson shows including The Brett Family Show, The Twelve Irish Tenors and The Balknobbers Jamboree Show, The Osmond Brothers Show, The Red Hot & Blue Show and the Jim Stafford Show. There is also dinner on the showboat Branson Belle where you will be treated to a show while cruising on Table Rock Lake. Donna is currently taking reservations for this trip.    ATLANTIC CITY — The bus leaves at 9 a.m. from the VFW parking lot on the third Wednesday of each month for Showboat Casino and the cost is $25. This trip is now open to the public by reservations only. Make your reservation with Josephine Pschar at the meeting or call her at 908-722-0156.
