Only incumbents in Lambertville, West Amwell and Stockton have filed petitions to run in the primary elections on June 7.
The deadline to file was Monday at 4 p.m.
— In Lambertville, two three-year terms on the City Council are up for grabs in the Nov. 8 general election.
Currently the council seats are held by Democrats Elaine Warner, of Elm Street, and Beth Asaro, of Delaware Avenue. Both are seeking re-election.
Ms. Warner was appointed to the council early in 2010 to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Ron Pittore, who went on to become the city’s municipal judge. She won the remainder of Mr. Pittore’s term in an election in November 2010. Before joining the council, she served eight years on the Lambertville Public School Board of Education.
Ms. Asaro also is a former LPS school board member, elected to the post in 2007. She was sworn in to the City Council seat in January 2009.
— In West Amwell, only one seat on the Township Committee is up for grabs. Currently it is held by Mayor Tom Molnar, a Republican. The only person to file a petition by the deadline, he is seeking re-election.
Mayor Molnar served on the committee from 2004 to 2006. He won election again in 2008. He has served on a number of township boards and committees. His previous community service includes the South Hunterdon football and basketball booster clubs, and assistant coaching for the South County Soccer Association.
— In Stockton, there are two Democrats seeking re-election to the Borough Council, Neal Esposito and Kate Steffanelli.
Mr. Esposito was elected to the council in 2002. He also previously served on the governing body for 13 years.
Ms. Steffanelli won her first term on the council in November 2008.
