Princeton Township
Francisco Vinueza, 26, of North Brunswick, was charged with a warrant arrest. While conducting a motor vehicle stop around 1:31 a.m. on Thursday, police found Mr. Vinueza, the occupant of the car, had an active warrant for $383 out of North Brunswick. He was arrested and later released, pending court, after posting the $383 bail.
Plainsboro
Melanie C. Johnidis, 24, of Plainsboro, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and making an improper U-turn. At 3:01 a.m. on Friday, police stopped Ms. Johnidis at the intersection of Dey Road and Woodland Drive. She was later released on her own recognizance, pending court.
Montgomery
Duncan M. Breen, 48, of Franklin Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, making an improper U-turn and hindering apprehension. At 12:04 a.m. on April 3, police stopped Mr. Breen at the intersection of Great Road and Route 518. Police determined he was intoxicated after administering field sobriety tests. Mr. Breen also allegedly provided a false name to police. He was arrested and later released, after posting $2,500 bail.
John K. Byrne, 54, of Manville, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath samples, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia. At 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, police observed a parked car on the shoulder of Sunset Road with its headlights off, its engine running and a lone occupant in the driver’s seat. Police determined the driver, Mr. Byrne, was intoxicated after administering field sobriety tests. He was arrested and later released, pending court.
Police and emergency workers responded to four reports of stranded cars on Sunday morning due to flooding. Between Saturday night and Sunday morning, the following roads were closed: Millstone River Road, Griggstown Causeway, Kingston-Rocky Hill River Road, Mill Pond Road, Sunset Road and Mountainview Road. At 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, Montgomery Fire Company No. 1 used a rescue boat to bring four persons from three cars to safety after being stranded on Millstone River Road. At 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, an elderly man drove into the flooded road on Kingston-Rocky Hill River Road and became stranded. When police arrived, he was out of his vehicle and on dry land. The vehicle was towed. No injuries were reported. By Monday morning, all roads were reopened except for Griggstown Causeway.
