Adult Day Center of Somerset County
“Generations” Gala Honors Dick Williams
Bridgewater (Adult Day Center) April 20, 2011—The Adult Day Center of Somerset County (ADC) announces its inaugural “Generations” Gala will be held Thursday, June 2, at the Palace at Somerset Park.
The Gala Honoree is Somerville resident Dick Williams, who recently retired as Somerset County Administrator after serving the citizens of Somerset County for more than 40 years. In his role as County Administrator, Dick was instrumental in helping the ADC move forward in acquiring the land on which its new larger, state-of-the-art, stand-alone facility is being built.
"We are extremely happy to be honoring Dick Williams at this year’s Gala,” said ADC Board President Ken Scherer. “Truly, if it weren’t for Dick’s leadership and foresight, we would never have been able to build our new, larger facility. So many people over time will benefit from his actions on behalf of Somerset County Adult Day Center."
The ADC’s new home will allow the Center, which for many years has been located in a considerably smaller space at the PeopleCare Center on Finderne Avenue, Bridgewater, to expand its facilities and raise its client capacity by 50 percent. Construction on the new facility, right next to the Somerset Patriots Ballpark in Bridgewater, is progressing well with an expected completion date of early May 2011.
“There’s a real interest and commitment from families who want to take care of their elderly at home,” said ADC Executive Director Jeff Macaulay. “We’re trying to respect that commitment and help them do that. It is going to change a lot of lives. We feel the best tool for care is the family.” The new ADC facility will be able to house 80 to 85 adults, up from the 55 to 60 they presently serve. The new facility will also allow the Center to build upon its current services, to include a comprehensive physical therapy area, a Caregivers Resource Center and a specially designed therapeutic kitchen.
Dale Florio of Princeton Public Affairs Group and Somerset Patriots owner Steve Kalafer are serving as Gala Co-Chairs. The following Vice Chairs are serving as Event Sponsors: Senator Christopher “Kip” Bateman, Raymond H. Bateman of Public Affairs Consultants, Robert Cagnassola of Suplee Clooney & Company, Arthur S. Goldstein of Wolff & Samson, Donald DiFrancesco of DiFrancesco Bateman, Dr. Paul J. Ali Vaezi of Dewberry-Goodkind, Inc. and Bob Wojtowicz of Natirar, Ninety Acres Culinary Center.
Sponsorships are still available and range from $3,000 to $15,000 and include Gala tickets and a Tribute page in the Commemorative Ad Journal. Founded in 1976, ADC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Tickets are available for $250 per person. Please contact Stephanie Cicale for more information or to purchase an ad or tickets at e-mail: scicale@m3development or 732-887-6578.
