I want to take the time to ask for the public’s support me as a candidate for Board of Education.
I will make sure our tax dollars as being used correctly and efficiently. I will not be the type of board member who will encourage above cap or frivolous spending. I will do what is right to make sure we stay true to our values, and we do what is in the best interest for our students to thrive.
Working in international business for 16 years, I understand the demands of the global economy. We need to think three steps ahead, instead of two behind. Let’s take the time to reevaluate our language program and make sure we get back into compliance by bringing one back to our elementary school students.
Many classes in our district are overcrowded. This creates a difficult learning environment for our students, and a stressful classroom for our teachers. It is counterproductive for all involved. If we start to introduce programs that are revenue drivers, such as full-day kindergarten, adult school classes, etc., we can help decrease class sizes, or potentially think about tax relief.
I support the athletic program. As a former tennis, basketball and softball player, I understand the lessons and discipline that being an athlete teaches you. I also feel that education at the youngest of ages with regard to healthy choices and an active lifestyle are crucial.
