School boards: No races in area towns

By Ruth Luse, Managing Editor
Ten seats are available on the four local school boards, but only nine candidates are running in the April 27 election.
In three districts — Lambertville Public School, West Amwell Elementary and South Hunterdon Regional High School — there are no contests.
   — At LPS, three candidates are running for the three available seats (three-year terms). Two of the candidates are incumbents, John Livingston, of Rock Creek Woods, and Nancy Kienzler, of Buttonwood Street.
The third candidate, Anna Nicolas, of Clinton Street, is running for the seat that will be left vacant when Steven Wolock’s term ends. Mr. Wolock is not seeking re-election.
   — At West Amwell Elementary School, three candidates are running for three available seats (three-year terms). Incumbent Aaron Balog, of Terrell Road, is seeking re-election. The other two candidates are Christine Baker, of Lake View Road, and Kevin Snyder, of Rocktown-Lambertville Road.
Incumbents Robert Tomenchok, current board president, and Kathy Greenwood are not seeking re-election.
   — At South Hunterdon Regional High School, only incumbents are running for the three available terms (three years). Nicole Claus (board vice president), Cheryl Carpenter and Dan Seiter are seeking re-election.
Ms. Claus represents West Amwell on the board. Ms. Carpenter and Mr. Seiter represent Lambertville.
   — And in Stockton Borough, incumbent David Pasicznyk’s seat is the only one available, but he did not file a petition to run. Neither did any other resident. A successful write-in candidate on April 17 could win the three-year term.
Polls are open in Lambertville from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. and elsewhere from 3-9 p.m.
