In travel soccer play, the U-11 South Brunswick Boys Phoenix beat the Hillsborough Tigers, 4-1 and the Robbinsville Revolution, 2-1, with both games on the road.
Goaltending duties were handled by Zafar Bhayat. Ben Butler was on fire scoring four goals in the two games while Dylan Inguardi and Omer Khan tallied the other two goals. Notching assists were Vivek Bharadwaj, Omer and Mike Buffolino.
Superb defense came from Akshith Lingam, Stavan Nayak, Vishu Gadre, Rohith Kothare and Benjamin Aug. The midfield was controlled by Mekhi Turner, Ben B., Mike, Kyrolos Dawoud and Dylan. Strong play at forward came from Johnny Wu, Omer, Alex Marna, Christos Lolas and Vivek.
The U12 Flames played the East Brunswick Strikers to a 2-2 tie.
The two goals for the Flames were scored by Aseem Desai who received a pass from Santosh Yelavarthy on the first one and scored off a free kick by Matthew Buffolino on the second. Jared Fisher provided the goal tending duties. The defense consisted of Matt B., Rafay Safi, Matt Perry and Tanay Shetty. Midfielders were Mihir Nayak, Matthew Selamie, Mac Qian, Arka Roy and Santosh. Forwards were Koonj Patel, Ashish Avadhani, Aniket Patil and Aseem. The Flames also participated in the Monroe Tournament on April 9 where they won their flight.
SBAA is holding 2011 Sophomore Legion and summer tournament travel baseball tryouts on Saturday, May 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rowland Park for players whose birthdays fall between May 1, 1996 and Apr. 30, 1998. Players must be registered for SBAA spring recreation baseball and be a resident of South Brunswick. SBAA is looking for form a Sophomore Legion team.

Anyone wishing to manage should go to the SBAA Tournament baseball website. All candidates will be considered after tryouts.

SBAA 8U summer travel tryouts will be held Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rowland Park. If a players birthday falls between May 1, 2002 and April 30, 2003, and they are registered for the SBAA Spring recreation baseball season, and are a resident of South Brunswick Township, the are eligible to tryout.
It is highly encouraged every player attends both days of tryouts. If a player wants to be considered for selection, every player must be at part of the tryout. Anyone unable to be at any part of the tryout must contact Jim Cooney prior to the start of tryouts.

All head coach candidates will be considered after tryouts conclude. Independent evaluators will be at the entire tryout and rate each player on their ability to throw, run, catch, hit and run the bases.
The travel season begin toward the end of May and concludes at the end of July. The season will be on weekends until school ends. Once school ends expect to have practice or a game every day until the end of July.
