Somerset County Sheriff Frank J. Provenzano
SOMERVILLE – Sheriff Frank J. Provenzano has announced that the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office will participate in Operation Take Back on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
County residents may drop off old or unwanted medications at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters, located in the lower level of the Somerset County Administration Building at 20 Grove St.
Over the last several years the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office has hosted other medicine- collection programs for expired, unwanted or unused medicines.
“Last November we netted approximately 81 pounds of prescriptions during the event,” Sheriff Provenzano said. “The total for all locations in Somerset County was 195 pounds of drugs from county residents.”
Operation Take Back is a statewide project organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration designed to reduce the drugs that are frequently abused in America.
Medications that are turned over to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office will be delivered to the Drug Enforcement Administration for appropriate disposal.
