Princeton, NJ (April 23, 2011) – Wild Child Yoga, a studio, which offers yoga to children of all ages, adults and pre/post-natal yoga, is celebrating its first Birthday at the Princeton Shopping Center on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The day begins at 9 a.m. with $5 classes, puppet shows and a dance performance by Odissi Dance at noon. Fairific, an online ethical trade company, will provide treats and beverages.
Wild Child Yoga is the first studio of its kind in the Princeton area. The studio offers classes for children of all ages and has recently introduced additional adult classes. Children’s offerings range from Baby and Me to Family Yoga to more challenging Vinyasa flow classes for teenaged athletes. Wild Child Yoga has spent the past year offering free classes in local-area schools. “We had the opportunity to work with first-grade classes at Community Park and those kids are really amazing,” says Thomson.
“This has been a great year at the studio and I’ve learned a lot as a new business owner,” says Justine Thomson, Wild Child Yoga’s Founder and Yoga Devotee. “We know we’re filling a huge gap in yoga offerings in the greater Princeton area. I am personally thrilled to share my passion for yoga with the greater Princeton community, especially with our children."
Classes at the studio are geared to specific age ranges from 45 minutes to over one hour. Classes are multi-level; newcomers are especially welcome.
"This year we are offering a summer camp program in July. We are bringing in local specialized instructors in drumming, art, yoga & nature who have agreed to teach at Wild Child Yoga to supplement our yoga camp offerings," says Thomson. "Sometimes you don’t realize who is available in your own backyard!”   “Each instructor brings something very unique to the table – a specific skill, personality trait, etc. – and that’s essential for building strong and successful programs." The camps will have a high instructor to child ratio and camp will register a maximum of 12 children per week.
Wild Child Yoga is adopting punch cards as of May 1st in order to offer clients more flexibility and variety through the summer months. For more information, please visit their website at wildchildyogaprinceton.com.
