Used clothing drive
at Woods Rd. School
   Saturday, April 30 — Woods Road School will hold a used clothing drive from 2-6 p.m. in the school parking lot. Proceeds will go towards the 4th grade party.
   To be collected are wearable clothing (men, women and children), shoes, belts, handbags, linens, stuffed animals and hard toys that can be put into cardboard boxes no bigger than 2-by-2 feet.
Roast beef dinner
at Reformed Church
   Saturday, April 30 — A roast beef dinner and bake sale will be held at the South Branch Reformed Church, 870 River Road, from 4:30-7 p.m. To reserve tickets in advance, call 908-369-4956. Adults $12, children (6 to 12) $5, children 5 and younger free. Take-outs available.
   Fire company hosts
first flea market
   Saturday, April 30 — Flea market at the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 at 375 Route 206, across from TD Bank. Starts at 9 a.m. The markets are held in the upper parking lot of Hamilton Road. Parking is on the grass behind the firehouse and in the upper lot, above Hillsborough Radiology, which won’t allow parking.
   Future markets will be on May 2, June 11, July 16, Aug 20, and Sept. 10.
   Outside spaces are $15 each. Vendors can show up without a reservation. There are absolutely no flea market spaces inside or outside for Oct. 15 vendor fair.

   Choir will wash
cars as fundraiser
   Saturday, April 30 — Hillsborough High School Choir will host a car wash in the parking lot of the elementary school, 435 Route 206, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will help buy choir attire and fund a future competition trip. For information, call 908-431-6600, ext. 3227.

Jewish School
to hold open house
   Friday, May 15 — The Congregation Kehilat Shalom religious school is accepting enrollment for the fall and will hold an open house from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the school at 253 Belle Mead–Griggstown Road, Belle Mead.
   Meet Rabbi Susan and principal Shari Rothstein, take a tour of the school, visit with congregants and get a car wash from students.
    The school explores the Jewish culture, arts and spirituality, and teaches about Israel and the Hebrew language.For information, call 908-359-0420.
   Golf outing benefits
RoboRaiders team
   Monday, May 16 — The third annual RoboRaiders golf outing will take place at the Fox Hollow Golf Club.
   There is a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6, followed by a raffle and awards. The cost is $150 per person or $140 each for a foursome, and includes greens fee, cart, beverages and dinner.

Students invited
to learn about SAT
   Wednesday, May 18 — High school students (grades 9-11) and parents are invited to the public library on South Branch Road to learn about the SAT and the college application process at 7 p.m. Topics will include effective SAT preparation, how to identify “good fit” colleges and strategies of successful college applicants.
   Susan Alaimo, high school teacher and college advisor and director of SAT Smart, will present the program. Registration begins May 4 and can be done online using the library calendar, at the library or over the phone by calling 908-369-2200, ext 14.
Garden club to sell
plants at meeting
Thursday, May 26 — The Neshanic Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street, Neshanic Station. Past President Jean Stives will present the monthly study on irises. The main event will be a plant auction of items brought in by club members.    Alzheimer’s support group — The Alzheimer’s Association has a support group in Hillsborough. Family members and caregivers come together to share information and support in a safe and confidential atmosphere.
   Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the sunroom at Emeritus Senior Living, 600 Auten Road, Hillsborough. Call 431-1300 if attending.
