HILLSBOROUGH: Part of Route 206 to be repaved

More than 2.5 miles in both directions of Route 206 in Hillsborough will be repaved over the next six months.
The state Department of Transportation says it will undertake a maintenance and resurfacing project that will improve a total of 15 miles of roadway along Routes 12, 27, 28, 22 and 206 in Hunterdon, Middlesex and Somerset counties.
In Hillsborough, the sections to be repaired are milepost 66.35 to 68.5 and 66.6 to 67.1, roughly north of Hamilton Road to the township border.
The roadway maintenance project includes milling and paving the roadway, repairing and upgrading the existing drainage systems, installing vehicle sensors, and new curbing and sidewalks within the project areas.
Project completion for all the routes is scheduled for October.
