CHAPTER B
Chapter B Seniors met on April 14 at the Municipal Building and celebrated spring with a great luncheon. The walls were decorated for spring and the tables were set with lovely colorful plants.
The luncheon was catered by Elmer’s Catering from Bound Brook and was a cold buffet with delicious roast beef, turkey, ham, salami, cheeses and salads. The food was plentiful and many brought plates home.
A record was set — everyone was served within 11 minutes. This all was followed by luscious desserts.
Two people were honored on the occasion of their birthdays. John Grabowski is celebrating his 85th birthday this month and one of our new members, Nancy Savell, is celebrating her 80th birthday. Happy Birthday to both of you and many, many more.
Our next meeting is May 12 in the Municipal Building’s all-purpose room. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and meeting will start promptly at 12:30 p.m.
Bingo has now been suspended until the fall.
   Tickets available in May:
   • Garden for Sculpture in Hamilton Township on Tuesday, June 21. After an extensive guided tour, we will head to Mastoris Restaurant in Bordentown for a delicious lunch. This is such a spectacular place with beautiful sculpture and many benches to sit if the walk is too much. The lunch will also be something not to be missed. Cost is $56.
   • Tickets go on sale for our June 9th Anniversary Luncheon, which is being held at the Somerville Elks Club on Route 28. The committee has selected a country western theme. Cost for luncheon will be $30; upon attendance you will receive a refund of $20. The May meeting is cut-off date to purchase tickets.
   • Tickets for Monmouth Raceway on Friday, Aug. 26, include bus, admission, program and a buffet lunch for a cost of $40. (We had originally scheduled the Freehold Raceway but they decided not to run in August. I think everyone will enjoy this; the accommodations and meals sounds great.

   • Breakfast With Seniors will be held at the Municipal Building on Thursday, June 23. Cost is $3. This is our annual breakfast where invited guests from Emeritus Assisted Living and Avalon Assisted Living attend. Pancakes, eggs, pastry, bagels, coffee and juice are on the menu.
