Trenton’s Got Talent: Soup Kitchen Showcases Artistic Talent of Patrons

By Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK)
This Saturday, May 7th, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) will host the second annual celebration of The Arts, featuring the work of the individuals who utilize TASK services and participate in TASK Arts Programs.  Art Day II will be held from 10am to 2pm at TASK, located at 72 ½ Escher Street, Trenton.  Admission is free and all are welcome to this family event.
Like last year’s event, the day will feature more than 100 works on display and available for purchase by more than 25 members of the ATEAM Artists of Trenton, live performances of original poetry by The SHARE Project, TASK’s award-winning performing arts program, and live music by the FunkTASKtiks band.  Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Chef Kathy of Madeline’s Table, Chef Lisa Cifelli of Dinner in a Snap, and the TASK Kitchen Staff.
“This event is important to us,” explains Dennis Micai, TASK Executive Director.  “TASK aims to feed the whole person.  Our meals nourish the body, and the arts programs help nourish the mind and spirit.”
Jaime Parker, SHARE Project Coordinator elaborates, “We are excited to showcase the skills of this community.  It’s amazing how talent manifests when you give someone a microphone or a paintbrush.”
