Victor Murray, Melvina Drive, Lawrenceville
Just as Lawrence Township must focus on cost containment, let’s not take our eye off of attracting vital businesses to our community to raise job opportunities, salaries, home values, etc. All of which in turn will generate positive revenues for our community.
The potential loss of wonderful community development departments like Recreation is not the answer, just as regressive taxes, fines, etc. would also send a negative message to the businesses and residents who are considering a move to (or from) Lawrence Township. However, positive messages on all fronts (municipal, educational, residential, commercial, retail) do have a positive impact.
Our township manager makes valid points, and faces undaunting challenges; acknowledging these is the first step. I believe that how we chose to deal with these problems is better served as emissaries and not as adversaries. We need to support our community by sending a collective positive message to residents and businesses alike that Lawrence Township is a great place to live, work, play and prosper!
