HILLSBOROUGH: Library hosts programs on renovations, fishing

   Hillsborough’s public library offers a variety of programs in upcoming weeks.
   The library will show of a classic action movie, “The Train,” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10. One of Burt Lancaster’s most acclaimed films and personal favorites, the 1964 version of the movie has good cast, great action and a terrific story line.
   The Friday Night Movie at 7 p.m. on May 13 is “Hereafter,” starring Matt Damon, Cécile De France and Bryce Dallas Howard.
   Also on the schedule:
   • Zumba Maynia — Linda Jones will lead Zumba classes at 7 p.m. on Mondays, May 9, 16 and 23. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water.
   • Ladies ESL — Meets Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m.
   • Updating your Home — Architect Carmine Cerminara and interior designer Michele Gracia will discuss why you may need an architect or an interior designer to spruce up your home. They’ll answer audience questions. Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m.• What Kind of Smart Are You? — New Jersey author and certified counselor Diane Lang will help you find out your strengths and skills, and how they can work for you. Tuesday, May 17 at 7 p.m.
   • All About Fishing — Fishing expert and author Emanuel “Manny” Luftglass will offer tips and secrets on how to catch really big fish. Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m.
   Here are programs intended for youngsters. Registration is required:
   • Afternoon Stories (ages 2-6) — A fun family storytime. Mondays, May 9 and 16, at 1 p.m.
   • Rhyme Time (newborn to 2½) — Join us for nursery rhyme fun. Tuesdays, May 10 and 17, at 10:30 a.m.
   • Singing Babies (newborn to 2) — Start your little one on the road to a lifetime love of music making. Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m.
   • Free Comic Book Day & DIY Artist’s Station (grades 6-12). Celebrate National Free Comic Book Day. Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m.
   • First Look Books (grades 6-12) — Monday, May 9, at 5 p.m.
   • Tuesday Stories (ages 2-6) — Introduce the pleasure of books to your child. Tuesday, May 17, at 10 a.m.
   • Story and Songs (ages 2-6) — An interactive story and some musical activities. Monday, May 11, at 10 a.m.
   • Garden Creation (grades 2-5) — Join the members of the Neshanic Garden Club and create something fun. Wednesday, May 18, at 4 p.m.
   • College application process and SAT info (grades 9-11) — Everything you need to know about college entrance tests and getting on track for the application process. Wednesday, May 18, at 7 p.m.
