MANSFIELD — The annual reorganization meeting for the Northern Burlington County Regional School District was held Monday and two of the three members were sworn in.
Incumbent Paul Tootell, representing Springfield, won a three-year seat with 355 votes, newcomer Debbie Pribell, representing Mansfield, won a seat with 852 votes and newcomer Edmund Nowak, representing North Hanover, won with 227 votes.
Mr. Tootell and Ms. Pribell were both sworn in. Mr. Nowak was not present at the meeting.
Board member James Nucito nominated Paul Tootell to be board president and Mr. Tootell was unanimously elected. Kevin Zimmer nominated Michael Crawford for vice president along with Mr. Tootell nominating Mr. Nucito.
Mr. Crawford withdrew his nomination to give the seat of vice president to Mr. Nucito saying that he “is the senior member, he deserves it.”
None of the professional appointments for the district were changed for the new school year.
The total operating budget was defeated by a vote of 1,558-1,235, and the board is working on setting up meetings with all four municipalities it represents to discuss any cuts that will be necessary.
