Local Families Dealing With Cancer Need You To Join With Hopewell Valley Central High School’s Student Movement Against Cancer (SMAC) And Help To Meet Cancer Victims Needs While Battling This Disease.
HV SMAC Bike Tour takes place on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and start time takes place between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. The start and finish are at the senior parking lot of Hopewell Valley Central High School in Pennington, NJ. There will be three different courses available: 15 miles (Easy), 30 miles (Moderate) and a more challenging 45 mile loop. SMAC is asking for a $20.00 donation. Cancer never takes a break so we ride rain or shine. Helmets are required for all riders and you must provide written consent if you are under 18. You may contact us: Coleen Ross or Dave Bello at [email protected] or check out our website at www.hvsmac.org.
SMAC’s goal is to raise money that will directly benefit cancer sufferers and their families in the surrounding communities. In less than two years, SMAC has raised and donated thousands of dollars to the likes of child cancer patients at the Children’s Cancer Institute in New Brunswick. We re-outfitted their game room with new Wii’s and games and donated dozens of toys. Local families have received hundreds of dollars in gift cards to local restaurants and food stores to provide a small financial break and to simply allow families to get out and enjoy themselves. We have spent a number of weekends doing yard cleanups and even snow removal in the winter. Our desire is to serve those locally and this HV SMAC Bike Tour helps reach our objective. Join us on May 22 and lets help those with cancer live as normal as possible through your love and care.
