Come get some blue hair and meet arthritis author and national spokesperson Kelly Rouba this Saturday from 1-3pm at Great Looks 4 Less Hair Salon in the Mercer Mall in Lawrenceville. She will be signing copies of her book, Juvenile Arthritis: The Ultimate Teen Guide.
Motivated by her own mission to spread the word about JRA in way that inspires rather than scares children, Rouba shares the stories of children, teens and young adults who are also living and thriving with the disease. Rouba includes medical research, guides on symptoms and a history of the disease in this up-to-date resource guide. Her book also includes testimonials from local Mercer County teens and young adults.
Also this month, the salon is hosting a blue hair fundraiser with a percent of proceeds from the purchase of blue hair extensions and feathers going to The Kelly Award with the Arthritis National Research Foundation. The Kelly Award was named for Rouba who was diagnosed with JRA at the age of 2 and is now an arthritis author and ANRF national spokesperson.
