The Manville Education Foundation still has openings for its second golf outing on Thursday, May 19, at the Hillsborough Country Club on Wertzville Road. The event is to help raise money for the foundation’s grants and scholarships.
The first golf outing was held in September and was such a success the foundation decided to make this an annual event, according to Chairman Joe Homyak.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast and tee time is at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served on the course.
There will be awards given for the longest drive, closest to the pin and the low gross team score. Foursomes will play the scramble format.
The cost for an individual player is $125 and the amenities include golf fees, lunch and beverages during the event and three-hour open bar and dinner buffet afterwards at Gatto’s Sports Bar on Camplain Road in Manville. Proper golf attire is required with no T-shirts, blue jeans, cargo pants or cargo shorts.
The Manville Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and enriching the educational opportunities and curriculum available to our students through innovative teaching and scholarship programs.
Sponsorships are still available for the event. A corporate sponsorship is $500 and includes a tee sign, foursome and name in program; lunch sponsor is $500; and tee sponsor is $100 for a tee sign and name in program.
The sponsorships will assist in providing additional opportunities for the students as they continue to excel in making the Manville School District meet and exceed the educational standards set by the State of New Jersey.
The MEF is still accepting donations of merchandise, services or gift certificates to be used for an auction following the day of golf. Any monetary donations will certainly be accepted and appreciated.
