Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman, New Jersey recently celebrated the opening of its newly renovated golf course with a ribbon cutting celebration attended by more than 150 club members. The honor of hitting the first balls off the tee went to Founder Bill Augustine, first member Jim Mahon, Board Vice President David Kotler and Director of Golf Allan Bowman.
The renovation focused on the lengthening of 6 holes and the creation of “Rees’s Tees,” named in honor of course designer Rees Jones who helped redesign the course which from the tips now plays to 7100 plus yards. The improvements also included a complete overhaul of the practice range which now contains two tiers, all season mats, a new short game area and several target greens.
According to CVCC Board President Hugh Hurley, “With the opening of Rees’s Tees we are confident that the Cherry Valley Country Club golf course is truly among the greats in the state.”
