SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Sports News & Notes

By Rich Fisher, Special Writer
The South Brunswick Soccer Club U14 Fire won back-to-back games over the Westfield Rangers. In game one, South Brunswick dominated in a 4-0 win as Harrison Welsher scored two goals while Harrison Kudwitt and Ramy Badawy scored one each. The defense of Alexi Rissiotis, Nick Marna and Joe Mastro held Westfield to one shot.
In game two, the Fire won 2-0 for their third straight shutout. Kudwitt went coast-to-coast for an unassisted goal in the second half and Sean Louhisdon scored the insurance goal late in the game. Ryan Cauley, Matt Cannon and Alex Mercurio pressured Westfield relentlessly. The Fire defense was rock solid as Rissiotis, Tyler Bourdon, Corey Gorelick and Kyle Ferry allowed Westfield few scoring opportunities. Goalies Mastro and Nick Trautwein made some difficult saves to preserve the shutout.
