The Somerset Valley YMCA hosted its fifth annual Hacker’s Open Golf Outing at the Neshanic Valley 9 Hole Academy Golf Course on Friday, May 13th. All proceeds from this charity event go towards our Strong Kids Campaign that helps financially disadvantaged children, families and seniors in our community by providing Y memberships, summer camp, and swimming programs.
This fun event was designed for adults who have never played golf or have had very little golfing experience. All participants received instruction from golf pros and played a round of nine holes while accompanied by a golf ranger.
Prize winners included Pete Lytwyn who won ‘closest to the pin’, Bernie Varillo who won ‘best outfit’, Dana Hutchinson winner of the ‘most creative swing’, Kelly Mareska winner of the ‘most unbelievable shot and Committee Chair Person and Board Member, Vanda Ferreira who won the ‘most improved player award’. Board Member Jeff Hockenbury won for ‘lowest score’ while Homer Shirley won the ‘too high to tell award’.
Somerset Valley YMCA, CEO, Paul Kieltyka thanked everyone for attending and making this event a continued success. Also thanked were our sponsors: Golf Shirt Sponsor — Team Capitol Bank; Banner Sponsor — Provident Bank and Beverage Cart Sponsor — Design & Molding, Inc.
