ALLENTOWN — Any Upper Freehold resident interested in being appointed to an unexpired term on the Upper Freehold Regional Board of Education must submit a resume and letter of interest to the board offices by June 24.
Steve Gagliardi, one of the Upper Freehold representatives on the 10-member regional Board of Education, recently announced he is stepping down on June 22 because he is moving out of the area. Mr. Gagliardi was elected to a three-year term in 2009 so his appointed replacement will serve until April 2012.
All potential school board members must be at least 18 and a resident of Upper Freehold for a minimum of one year. He or she must also be a U.S. citizen, be registered to vote, and be able to read and write. Board of Education members are volunteers who do not receive any compensation for their service.
Resumes and letters of interest should be sent to Superintendent of Schools Richard Fitzpatrick, 27 High St., Allentown, NJ 08501. The deadline is June 24.
