To all those who were part of the annual Clean Communities Day on April 30.
And to Phil Petrone for his leadership and organization of the local event.
Clean Communities Day is made possible by grants from the state to towns, such as Manville, and counties to remove litter and trash and help to beautify local areas. The money comes from fees paid by manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors whose products are considered to produce litter.
In Manville on April 30, volunteer gathered at firehouse No. 3 and registered to take part in the event. Some came as groups, but all were put to work for about three hours, removing trash from different locations around town.
We say thank you to all who did their part to make Manville a more beautiful place.
