School guidance department offers program at school
The Hillsborough High School Guidance Department is offering a “College Transition Night” program for senior students, their parents and others at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, in the auditorium of the high school on Raider Boulevard.
The program will help prepare senior students and their parents with the transition to college.
Dennis Levy, director of financial aid at Rider University, will discuss money management aspects for college students and help parents consider the necessary financial aspects prior to sending their child to school.
Jim Pillar, associate vice president for student services at Monmouth University, will discuss first-year expectations and tips for students to achieve success on campus, while discussing issues that students encounter when living away from home.
Raider alumni will discuss their first year of college life while offering suggestions and “hints” for college-bound students. They will offer ideas on what to bring to college, living in a dorm, roommate issues and campus life. The panel will also be available for questions.
