Program to offer tips
to college transition
Thursday, June 2 The Hillsborough High School Guidance Department is offering a “College Transition Night” program for senior students and their parents at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the high school on Raider Boulevard. Presentations will assist and prepare graduating seniors and their parents with the transition process to college.
High school staffers and local college professionals will make presentations. A panel of HHS alumni will discuss their first year of college life while offering suggestions and “hints” for college-bound students.

Wednesday, June 8 St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church will sponsor a Slavic dinner on Wednesday, June 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the St. Mary Parish Center, 1900 Brooks Blvd. $12 for adults (ages 9 and older) and $5 for children (8 and younger) and includes all you can eat pirohi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, salad, desert and beverage.

Book fair sales

Friday, June 10 Starting at 4 p.m., Hillsborough High School small music ensembles will play at the book fair at the Barnes & Noble store, 319 Route 202/206 at the Somerville Circle.
Purchases at the store that day and online from June 10 to 15 will benefit the high school band and guard programs. Summer reading lists will be available.

Garden club
to install officers
Thursday, June 16 The Neshanic Garden Club will hold its installation of 2011-12 officers, annual meeting and butterfly garden tour at the Buttinger Butterfly Garden at Stony Brook Watershed in Pennington.
