Hillsborough Family YMCA promotes water safety
Remember your fondest summer memories? Chances are many of them involved being at camp and in or around water.
It’s hard to forget when you learned to swim: the joy of taking off the floaties and feeling nothing but your arms and legs propel you through the water. The excitement of jumping into the deep end knowing this time, someone wasn’t going to catch you. This time, you could do it yourself.  That’s the feeling the Hillsborough Family YMCA hopes to provide children this summer through their summer camp program.
“The Hillsborough Family YMCA’s hope is for all children to be safe in and around the water.” says Youth & Family Director, Jim Vaccarella.  The Hillsborough Family YMCA teaches water safety, stroke mechanics and instills confidence as part of the Y’s summer camp program.
The Y’s camps provide children with summer adventures that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body.  The Y takes pride in bringing fun and exciting camp activities to children with a focus on safety and education.   Being safe in and around the water is an important life skill and it’s just one of the many important skills that children can learn at Hillsborough Family YMCA camps.
The Y has always been recognized as the nation’s swim instructor, and is among the country’s most trusted provider of aquatic and summer camp programs.  Summer will soon be upon us and camp spots are filling up.  Register today and have confidence that your child will have a wonderful and safe summertime experience.
