Neshanic Garden Club is a member of the N.J. Garden Club, Inc., District IV, which is planning a tour called “The Secret Gardens of District 4” on Saturday, June 18. This tour is a fund raiser for a September district flower show.
Tour hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Susan O’Donald, District IV director, said, “This will be an exciting day with tours of eight gardens with different sales, including attic treasures, gloves, hats, plants and garden tools.”
The tour will be along the Route 202 corridor from Chester to Stockton, including stops at Bridgewater, Branchburg and Flemington. A local stop is the Williamsburg garden at the 10-acre Allen home at 9 Craig Road, Neshanic. The working greenhouse and vegetable garden at the Johnson home at 5 Oakura Lane, Bedminster, will be the horticultural center of the tour. They will demonstrate how to make proper soil, display hospa and sell geranium and other plants.
Advance tickets cost $20; otherwise it’s $25 on the day of the tour at any of the gardens. Make checks out to GCNJ District IV and contact Terry Holman at 908-876-4317 or Peggy Koehler at 908-526-1309 for ticket purchases.
