Diocese to Host Faith Formation Workshop for Religious Educators

By Erin Friedlander
The Diocese of Metuchen will host a faith formation workshop for religious educators in Catholic schools and parishes on Friday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center, 146 Metlars Lane, Piscataway. The ‘Coaching Parents Makes All the Difference’ workshop will demonstrate effective ways to engage Catholic parents in the ongoing faith formation of their children and will provide participants with resources to support their efforts.
Offered by the diocesan Office for Catechesis and co-sponsored by Our Sunday Visitor Curriculum and PastoralPlanning.com, the four-hour program will be presented by Leisa Anslinger, director of Growing up Catholic: Sacramental Formation that Lasts a Lifetime. Ms. Anslinger earned a Masters in Secondary School Counseling from Purdue University and a Master of Arts in Religion from the Athenaeum of Ohio. She is a widely-known expert on lifelong catechesis and stewardship and has authored books on those topics.
The event is free for all religious educators in the Diocese, but pre-registration is requested. A light lunch will be served. For more information, call the Office for Catechesis at 732-562-1990 ext. 1310, email [email protected] or visit www.diometuchen.org.
