Don Griffin, Joe McGrath, Lambertville Food Pantry
The Lambertville Food Pantry would like to express its appreciation to the New Hope and Lambertville post offices and to residents of both communities for the donation and collection of food this past month.
The Interfaith Council relies entirely on donations, and during the current economic conditions, our needs have increased greatly, making the post office collections especially valuable.
This year, in particular, the generous bounty of area residents was shared with Fisherman’s Mark, who also operates a food pantry in Lambertville.
The collections at the New Hope and Lambertville post offices will benefit several hundred families in our area.
The principal activity of the Council of Churches, since our founding after the 1955 flood, is the operation of the Lambertville Food Pantry at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, serving the Lambertville-New Hope area.
Customers of the Food Pantry remain in the range of 1,000 to 1,300 each month.
The council also sponsors, or participates in, the Martin Luther King Service Day, the Interfaith Hospitality Network in Hunterdon County, Habitat for Humanity, plus the Crop Walk and various annual ecumenical services such as Easter sunrise service, Holocaust Remembrance and interfaith Thanksgiving eve service.
Thanks again for your generous help.
