Middletown Arts Center calls for art entries

MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Arts Center invites adult amateur artists to submit their work for inclusion in the Middletown CommunityArt SeriesAdultAmateur Exhibit.

The exhibition will be on display in the arts center’s spacious gallery Saturday, June 7, through Sunday, June 22.

Entries must be received on Tuesday, May 31, or Wednesday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. An entry fee of $25 includes the submission of up to five framed pieces. The preferred maximum size for submission is 24-by-36 inches due to space limitations, but a few larger works will be considered if space allows. Artists may include a brief biography and promotional items with their work.

All work must remain on display through Sunday, June 22, and be picked up on the following Monday or Tuesday. Visit www.middletownarts.org or call 732-706- 4100 for an application.

The exhibition’s opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, June 12, at 7 p.m. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, or by appointment.

The Middletown Arts Center is located at 36 Church St. Free parking is available on-site, and the center is wheelchair accessible.
