Lt. Lance Maloney reported:
Officer Vincent Amabile responded to a Louellen Street, Hopewell Borough, address for the report of a burglary May 6.
Sometime between 2 p.m. May 5 and 1 p.m. May 6, someone entered the unlocked home and removed a desktop computer valued at $1,199.
Officer Amabile responded to the North Greenwood Avenue bridge construction site in Hopewell Borough for a report of criminal mischief May 17.
Sometime between 3:30 p.m. May 16 and 6:50 a.m. May 17, someone damaged two windows on a crane parked at the site. The damage was estimated at $500.
Officer Amabile responded to Benson Lane for the report of a person selling magazines door to door May 17.
Officer Amabile arrived and spoke with Marcus Oliver, 27, of Camphor Way, Melbourne, Florida, who is employed by Ultimate Unity, which is based in Michigan.
Mr. Oliver did not have a permit to solicit, which is required by ordinance. Mr. Oliver was issued a summons for the ordinance violation.
His case will be heard in Municipal Court.
Officer James Rosso responded to East Stanford Road for the report of a person selling magazines door to door May 17.
Officer Rosso arrived and spoke with James Norris, 24, of South Eberhart Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, who is employed by Ultimate Unity.
Mr. Norris did not have a permit to solicit, and he was issued a summons for the ordinance violation.
An additional report of another person selling magazines was received from Brewster Court around 4:36 p.m.
Officer Rosso arrived and spoke with Kenneth Fowler, 25, of Bethaniaruial Hall Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, employed by Ultimate Unity, who also didn’t have a permit to solicit.
Mr. Fowler was issued a summons for the ordinance violation. Both of these cases will be heard in Municipal Court.
Officer James Hoffman responded to Pennington-Lawrenceville Road for the report of a smoke condition at 12:32 a.m. May 18.
Officer Hoffman proceeded to the old Twin Pines Airport property and observed a recreational vehicle fully engulfed in flames. No one occupied the vehicle, which has been parked in the same spot on the property for several years.
The Pennington Fire Company and the Lawrenceville Fire Company responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
The fire remains under investigation by Detective Michael Sherman and Chief Matthew Martin of the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services Unit.
Officer Amabile responded to Elm Ridge Road for a report of criminal mischief May 18.
Sometime overnight, someone damaged several mailboxes and dumped garbage from garbage cans along Elm Ridge Road, Carter Road and Crusher Road.
Officer Lincoln Karnoff responded to the Gasco gas station on the Pennington Circle for the report of criminal mischief May 18.
Sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. that day, someone tipped over a Pepsi soda machine, causing an undetermined amount of damage to the machine.
Officer Mandy Grey responded to county Route 654 for the report of a possible drunken driver at 11:46 p.m. May 17.
The caller directed officers to the Quick Chek on Route 654 after the car pulled into the parking lot and parked.
Officer Grey arrived and found the driver, Christian Cruz, 34, of Pebble Creek Court, Hopewell Township, asleep in the front seat. Officer Grey spoke with Mr. Cruz, who had the odor of alcohol on his breath.
Mr. Cruz was charged with drunken driving and reckless driving. He later was released to an acquaintance.
This case will be heard in Municipal Court.
Officer Karnoff charged Anthony Kopkash, 42, of Hale Street, Pennington, with making terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct May 17.
These charges stem from a road rage incident, which occurred along Pennington Road on May 6 in which Mr. Kopkash jumped into another motorist’s car and threatened to harm him.
Mr. Kopkash was injured when he fell out of the car onto the road.
Mr. Kopkash remains hospitalized with lower body injuries. This case will be forwarded to the Mercer County prosecutor’s office for review.
Officer Karnoff responded to Pennington Road for the report of a person walking in the middle of the road May 17.
Officer Karnoff arrived and found a juvenile male walking in the road within the Pennington Circle. The juvenile failed to listen to Officer Karnoff directions to move off of the road.
After a brief scuffle, the juvenile was placed under arrest. The juvenile was processed at police headquarters and was released to a relative.
This case will be forwarded to Family Court.
Officer Frank Tulko responded to Pennington Road for the report of a one-car motor vehicle crash at 1:39 p.m. May 19.
Officer Tulko arrived and found Jessica Lewin, 22, of Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, had been traveling north on Pennington Road when she left the road and struck a telephone pole.
Ms. Lewin was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for a complaint of abdominal pain by the Pennington First Aid Squad.
Ms. Lewin later was released from the hospital and charged with drunken driving, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.
This case will be heard in Municipal Court.
