LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Thousands of Rider University alumni are expected to converge upon the Lawrenceville campus for Reunion Weekend on Friday, June 10, and Saturday, June 11, to reconnect with friends and fellow alums, honor distinguished graduates, and enjoy plenty of fun events, great music and delicious food. The two-day event promises amusement and entertainment for Rider family members of all ages. Rider is located at 2083 Lawrence Road (Route 206).
There are more than 30 major events scheduled, including various affinity-group and class-based reunions, the second annual Faculty and Alumni Tennis Classic, and the fifth annual 5K Walk/Run for Women’s Athletics. Saturday will also feature the perennially popular Rider Broncs Family Picnic and Fest on the mall, featuring fun, food and entertainment, including inflatable rides and other games for kids, who are encouraged to pack a swimsuit. Saturday night will be capped by the Broncs at Night, a 21-and-over event, featuring Dueling Pianos.
Reunion Weekend 2011 will begin on Friday with the Olde Guarde Society Luncheon, featuring the induction of the Class of 1961. Members of the Phi Sigma Nu will also be on hand to mark the 64th anniversary of their reenactment of Washington’s famed crossing of the Delaware, believed to be the first such reenactment, which was chronicled on the pages of LIFE magazine.
Movie Under the Stars will feature an outdoor screening of the animated 2010 feature Megamind, starring the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey and Brad Pitt, on the campus green on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. Movie Under the Stars is open to the public.
