Only incumbents in Lambertville, West Amwell and Stockton filed petitions in April to run in the primary elections on June 7.
Polling places will be open on Tuesday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m.
— In Lambertville, two three-year terms on the City Council are up for grabs in the Nov. 8 general election.
Currently the council seats are held by Democrats Elaine Warner, of Elm Street, and Beth Asaro, of Delaware Avenue. Both are seeking re-election.
No Republicans filed in April.
Ms. Warner was appointed to the council early in 2010 to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Ron Pittore, who went on to become the city’s municipal judge. She won the remainder of Mr. Pittore’s term in an election in November 2010. Before joining the council, she served eight years on the Lambertville Public School Board of Education.
Ms. Asaro also is a former LPS school board member, elected to the post in 2007. She was sworn in to the City Council seat in January 2009.
— In West Amwell, only one seat (three-year term) on the Township Committee will be filled in November. The seat is held by Tom Molnar, a Republican, who is seeking re-election. No Democrat filed in April.
Mr. Molnar, of Goat Hill Road, served on the committee from 2004 to 2006. He won election again in 2008. He has served on a number of township boards and committees. His previous community service includes the South Hunterdon football and basketball booster clubs, and assistant coaching for the South County Soccer Association.
— In Stockton, there are two Democrats seeking re-election to the Borough Council — Neal Esposito and Kate Steffanelli. The terms are for three years.
No Republicans filed in April.
Mr. Esposito, of Stockton-Sergeantsville Road, was elected to the council in 2002. He also previously served on the governing body for 13 years.
Ms. Steffanelli, of Mill Street, won her first term on the council in November 2008.
Voters also will chose candidates for state and county offices:
— For state Senate, (two-year term), candidates are: Christopher Bateman, Republican, and Maureen Vella, Democrat.
— For General Assembly (two-year term, vote for two), candidates are: Marie Corfield and Joe Camarota —Democrats; and Peter J. Biondi, Republican. No petition was filed for the second seat by the Republicans.
— For Hunterdon County clerk (five-year term), the only candidate is Mary H. Melfi (Republican). No Democrat filed.
— For the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders (one three-year term), the candidates are: Robert Walton (Republican) and Andrea Bonette (Democrat).
