HILLSBOROUGH: Library to show six movies

Schedule of events at township facility

Movies will be featured at the Hillsborough Public Library in coming weeks.
On Friday night, the library will again show this year’s Best Picture, “The King’s Speech” at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. Kirk Douglas stars in “Paths of Glory.” This early Stanley Kubrick-directed film is set in the French trenches of World War I. Banned in several European countries at the time of its release, ‘Paths of Glory’ tells a story of wartime glory-hunting, criminal indifference, and the classic battle between good and evil. Mr. Kubrick’s eye for detail combined with brilliant cinematography, great battle scenes and a powerful story line makes this film really unforgettable.
On Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman are unforgettable in the prison/escape classic “Papillon,” directed by Franklin J. Schaffner. Based on the memoirs of Henri Charriere, “Papillon” depicts the brutality, deprivation and perversion of life in the penal colonies of French Guyana. Where else can you see two great actors wrestle a nasty 10-foot alligator in a dirty mud hole…and in Blu-Ray.
”Little Fockers” will be shown on Tuesday, June 21, at 1:30 p.m.
”True Grit,” starring Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin and Matt Damon, will be shown Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m.
You can travel the world in film Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. with Rick Busciglio, who has years of experience in the entertainment industry. Let Rick be your film travel guide to scenic and exciting locations near and far.
