Need time off from feeding your family or your spring chores to see how our ancestors tackled some of these chores in the 18th century?
You are invited to stop by the Thomas Clarke House on Sunday in Princeton Battlefield State Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ladies and gentlemen in period dress will be demonstrating cooking over an open fire, creating period meals and desserts using historic recipes in 18th century cooking equipment. There is also washing of wool fleece preparing for spinning into yarn and other chores facing a family in the spring on an 18th century farm.
The Clarke House and exhibits will also be open for tours. Admission is free.
Princeton Battlefield is located at 500 Mercer Road (Princeton Pike) in Princeton Township, 1.5 miles south of Princeton University. For information call (609) 921-0074.
