Steve Holzinger from Somerset County Transportation gave an overview of the services offered to seniors explaining the Scoot and Para Transit Programs. He encouraged the seniors to avail themselves of the services, some of which are fare-based and some donation only. The services offered are transportation for grocery shopping, doctor visits and senior centers for lunch. You can contact them at 1-800-246-0527 for further information.
Ed Komoroski reminded us that there will be a tech class in late September or early October probably, on a Tuesday or Thursday. More information will be forthcoming in September for sign up.
According to Lou Fischer the Brick and Sign Program for the high school will be a go. Bricks are still available for sale and he is accepting donations as well. He thanked all who have contributed in making this project come together. He reminded us that Community Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Lincoln Park
At the July 14 meeting we will be discussing our future trips, both overnight and day. Think about this and voice your opinion on destinations.
